Wintec has a special duty of care to the international students under the age of 18.
As required by the Wintec policy and Code of Practice for Pastoral Care of International Students, under 18 students must live with a Wintec approved homestay, parents or designated caregiver which means under 18 students will not be allowed to rent a property or live on their own.
Important Rules You Need To Know:
1. Curfew
All Under 18 students must return home before 9pm Sunday-Thursday, and before 11pm Friday-Saturday. If you are going to be late, you must notify your homestay immediately.
2. Applying for trips and sleepovers
If you plan to go away for the weekend, an application form needs to be submitted before 12pm Thursday prior to the trip.
If you plan to go away on a weekday, an application form needs to be submitted at least 2 days prior to the trip.
3. Communication
You must always tell your homestay where you are going and who you are going with. Have your homestay's contact details on you at all times in case of an emergency. We will keep in regular contact with the student's parents and homestay parents.
4. Attendance
You must attend 100% of your classes. If you miss a class, obtain a medical certificate or other evidence to explain your absence and give to your tutor as soon as you return to class. Missing class will affect your visa renewal.
