As a Wintec student, you can access a range of academic support while you study. Our job is to help build your academic capability.
Academic topics can include:
- Assignment writing
- APA referencing
- Study skills
- Time management
- Note taking
- Maths
- Science
You can get help for these topics in a variety of ways:
- Workshops in your course
- Generic workshops on topics like referencing
- 15 minute drop-in services most days
- Appointments with Learning Advisors
- Peer Tutors in your subject area (subject to availability)
- Short study skills courses
You can access as many workshops as you like. You can have two other contact times per week. In short, you can attend 2 drop-ins or one one-to-one and one drop-in per week.
It is important to know that we do not proofread your assignment for you but make suggestions on how you could improve your work. If you were having difficulty with proof reading your own assignment Learning Advisors could suggest strategies to assist you with proof reading.
These academic supports can be accessed through Student Learning Services and Te Kete Kōnae. For more information, including course dates and to register for short courses, check out our Student Learning Services and Te Kete Kōnae webpages, or make an appointment to talk to someone.
